I really enjoy writing. But there are some problems that have been occurring lately with writing my first book. The first one is lack of reference material. Seriously I can't find one thing on one-on-one dragon fights let alone how dragon boxing matches are supposed to happen. The good news is that I have a lot of room in which to bullshit. The bad news is that there are no established guidelines. So I'm sort of the first to write about dragon boxing. If I were to guess I would say it would be a combination of kangaroo and human boxing. The second is the inability to fill the holes. There are gaps in my chapter 10. Normally this wouldn't be a problem except that my non-hole parts already have more than 4500 words in this one chapter. And I'm not even done with the bulk of this chapter yet. So in the end I'm going to have one really long chapter. My third problem is knots. Knots are places in the story that either force the story to go on longer or screw the story up completely. First you have to find them. And sometimes they're there and sometimes they're not. When you do find them you can either delete and go around them or you can try to comb them out. Either way it's a big pain in the ass.

Stinkin' Knots
I’ve got a HUGE knot in my story, one that I can’t delete even if I wanted two because it’s critical to the story. It’s a boxing fight scene between Prag and Lore for the title of Prince of the Celtic Realm. The reason why it’s so critical is because Praxel tries to kill Prag. This reestablishes a theme I had in chapter three through six of Praxel being homicidal. But my knot is how do I get them to the ring and secondly I don’t know how to do a fight scene.
Of course, it doesn’t help that I’ve been spending more time on Illustrator than on Word, Twitter, and Blogger combined. Why? My brother has a school assignment in Video Production that involves stop action. So far he’s got some Google Earth and some crappy looking Flash animation from my mother. I can do much better animation, and I think my woman is far prettier than her woman. And because Illustrator is better at vector graphics than Flash, that’s what I’m using.
Anyway, here's my version of the girl

Dragon vs. Dragon fighting
I want to start by discussing how difficult it was to decide on a topic for today's blog. I had three in mind: this one, the rules of the Renewal Water, or I could continue talking about gifts. If you have a preference on which one you want me to discuss next you can fill out my comments below or you can tweet me @Sorica2001.
Now awhile ago on twitter, I made the argument that even before humans that dragons fought one another. I made such an argument because at the end of Book One of the Celtic Realm Prophecies I have Prag and Praxel duking it out.
When I was researching the topic of dragon on dragon fights, I was surprised at how little information was out there. There are no videos on youtube (except on a fight between a T-rex and a dragoness protecting her chick, Thanks Discovery Channel) and no movies that I can think of except maybe the end of Dragonheart II and very few pictures or articles. Fortunately, I have a very good imagination. And this lack of resources means I'm free to bullshit. And who knows, maybe my book will establish a new craze on dragon to dragon fighting.
However, I do want to establish certain parameters. Like the weapons of a typical european dragon include: Fire breath, spikes along the spine, talons, whipping tail, teeth, and horns on head. Their weak spots include: Eyes, under belly, wing flaps, and the soft skin under their scales. Their defenses include: flying away, bluffing, sounding an alarm, blocking attacks with forearms, and hoarding gems and putting them underneath the stomach scales. Finally Prag's reason for fighting Praxel: Praxel threatens the lives of his beloved Amelia and their eggs. Praxel's reason for fighting Prag: ? Because he likes being a bully, I don't know
How do you think the smackdown should happen?
